How to Find Genuine Alternatives to Paid Weight Loss Memberships

Weight loss clubs are excellent ways to lose weight, because they operate from the encouragement and support from a social environment. Some people however are not able to afford the fees associated with formal weight loss clubs.

 There are however viable alternatives to people who are on a strict budget or who have a limited income.

It is free, and it is an excellent way of following along together in a group and receiving mutual encouragement in following a health improvement program.

Some community agencies offer healthy lifestyle programs that are government funded, and a person should contact their local government health department, or public health promotion agency in order to find information regarding local community programs in their district.

Other ways to find health include online programs such as Calorie King, where a program can be provided and an exercise program followed, and there are social support forums available. People can register for free to follow Calorie King.

Other people join websites such as 100 days live, to share with others their journey, and others use instagram, or keeping a blog to share with others their weight loss journey.

There are many, many benefits to finding and joining a socially based weight loss program, as the encouragement and mutual support to "stay the course" will help achieve fitness goals more often than a person trying to "go it alone."

There are also Facebook and other social media groups that get together and discuss weight loss tips and share their weight loss and health improvement journeys together. Studies have shown and demonstrated the power of social support.

Formal weight loss clubs have their proper place and are certainly successful and effective in what they do, however being on a limited income should not be used as an excuse for finding a social weight loss support group and being able to improve one's own health.

If one is also inclined they can also form a mutual support group amongst friends or on a social networking site, and inform and encourage each other in the weight loss journey, share tips and information amongst themselves, stay accountable to one another by sharing weekly weigh-ins, and sharing healthy recipes, and by meeting together several times per week for a walking group.

 There are plenty of free resources available to help support each other's health and wellness goals.
